Debi,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. I know it is a huge loss for you.

I am the daughter of Fred Garland. Dad and your grandpa were uncle and nephew. The Garlands are having a Garland Family reunion in September. We would love it if you and your family could make it. If you want more info, you can go to Facebook and friend request me and I will add you to the Garland page, or email me at jolynnquillen@hotmail.com and I will send you a flyer about the reunion.

God Bless!

My Sister, Cheryl and Hank's oldest daughter is being kept alive on a machine for the next 2 days. I'm on my way to McHenry IL to get one last chance to see my Sister. I can't tell anyone here how much I will miss her. She is such an amazing woman with so much talent and love to give. I know she's with her husband, Dan and Mom & Dad. I just wish she could have stayed here longer...

Dear Debi and Cheryl,
I was a very fortunate little girl to have been able to grow up knowing what a guitar was SUPPOSED to sound like thanks to having your dad and grandparents as next door neighbors. I got to hear your dad playing the guitar in his room when I was outside playing and often he would come over to visit and play in our living room. Your father had more talent in his little finger than most musicians have in their whole body! And he was a delightful character to know as well. You probably don't remember me Debi but you babysat me on occasion and taught me a little on the piano. I also have some pictures of your dad and grandparents if you would like copies. I have inherited my parents home in Florida if you would like to write me there I will see you get them. Elaine

I feel for the daughters, I really hope you girls keep the best thoughts in your hearts. It is all we have. What I noticed in Hanks Obituary is the neglect for the writer to even involve his feelings for his Wife, Daughters Brother and other family members. I challenge us all to think of our lives and sit and write our obituaries and make sure we are sharing the love we truly have for our family with them and make sure everyone know that the love you have is Most Important so that the Obituary writer puts down FIRST on your obituary that feeling so that the family sees it and the world knows that FIRST. I know, without knowing the man, that he must have loved his wife and kids deep inside and just may not have know how to show it.... if not only for the times he lived in where it was learned behavior to MAYBE not put the family first in public..... Whatever.... I just feel like no matter what, he would want ALL of his family to stick together and love one another! ESPECIALLY the sisters... Have a great Live Girls! Love EACH OTHER!!! It may be all you have in the end. My wife and her sister became SO CLOSE after their mother passed away!! I am so proud of them both... they are just best friends now....

Nathan is incorrect. A is the smart deal. Raymond Smullyan would take that deal: "OK, here's my statement: You will neither give me exactly $10 nor exactly $1 million. Now, if you analyze this, you will see the statement must be false...but now you owe me $1 million."

Debi - This was a hard Christmas for me too - My Mom passed away in June so it was the first one without her. Even though I was merrily surrounded by kids and grandkids, and my grumpy ole dad is still around - I just missed my Mom soooo much. She was 69 and lived in eastern Kentucky until succumbing to COPD. My mother was a mountain girl and an Elvis fan and she loved to tell me the story of when she was "Kissed and dipped by Elvis" (great story from 1958!). Hope your New Year is off to a great start!!
